Polished Caymanite Semi Precious Stone From Cayman Brac, An Island In The Caribbean Sea. Total Stone Weight Is 182 Grams. Stone Dimensions Are Approximately 97 mm In Length, 64 mm In Width, 24 mm height. This Semi Precious Stone Is Only Found On Cayman Brac, Not To Be Confused With The Caymanite Stones Found On Grand Cayman. This Is A Dolomite rock. Testing Between 6 And 7 On The Mohs Scale It Is Nearly As Hard As Quartz. Caymanite Has Layers Of Color In Gentle Earth Tones, Created By The Different Mineral Deposits In Each Strata. Manganese Dominates The Black Layers, With Iron Producing Shades Of Red, And Nickel, Titanium And Copper Influencing Other Tones. Once Worked And Polished The Stones Are Truly Unique And Can Be Made Into A Wide Variety Of Jewelry.
